Brief Overview
Ros Thomas is a journalist and author with a speciality in long-form reportage, and a background in television investigative reporting, radio and print. For five years she was the weekend columnist for The West Australian Newspaper. In 2021, Ros’s debut novel became a WA bestseller, now in its second edition. In 2024, she was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to research the emerging global epidemic of loneliness. A year of international study included a series of interviews with some of the most isolated and vulnerable members of Western society. Her work has attracted a loyal following in both print and social media. The publication of her loneliness findings has attracted attention from Governments, health care providers, NGO’s, NFP’s and employers. In 2025, she is contributing feature articles to theWeekend Australian Magazine and is the Deputy Chair of the WA Government’s Carers Advisory Council.
