Plus Social (Gold Coast)
About Us
Plus Social® is a program with award-winning design that focuses on improving your support network, confidence and wellbeing. It runs in conjunction with your existing medical care and involves an experienced and caring Service Specialist connecting you to local sources of support. This enables you to access a vast network of social and health-related services and local supports such as:
● Community services to aid physical and psychological health
● Clinical interventions like medication reviews
● Allied health services
● Financial and relationship counselling
● Housing, education and employment assistance
● Accessing benefits and transport
● Social interest groups including relaxation, gaming and arts and crafts
The Gold Coast version of the Plus Social program is designed for people whose mental health significantly impacts their daily living. The program features:
● Clinical care coordination between GPs, psychiatrists and allied health workers
● Connections to a range of local community services and social groups, and
● An after-hours community-based space, The Hub, where clients needing support can come after hours and where many of our social groups are run.

Target Audience:
The Gold Coast version of the Plus Social program is designed for people whose mental health significantly impacts their daily living.
Eligibility Criteria:
Plus Social is free to Gold Coast (Queensland) area residents who are:
● Are 18+ years old and living with complex mental health issues
● Living in the community in the Gold Coast area and supported by a GP or private psychiatrist
● Are in need of (non-urgent) additional support beyond GP management, and not receiving supports from Gold Coast Health or Queensland Health.
● The program is only accessible through a referral from a GP or psychiatrist.
