About the event
The NATURELINK workshop will explore how we can build the capacity of community organisations to meet the needs of community members to better connect them to outdoor and other non-medical activities that improve their well-being and quality of life. Social prescribing is another way of ensuring trusted referrers can connect people to available resources from the community, such as through nature-based interventions and clubs. Within a local area, it's helpful to focus specifically on how to enhance the capacity of community organisations to let people know about and make them aware of activities in the area, and also for other organisations to receive those people in a safe, welcoming, and accommodating activity and environment. This workshop will look at current knowledge and expectations about potential referrers and service delivery agencies regarding a local model of social prescribing and work towards creating tangible outcomes to help improve access to local activities. As a key stakeholder in this area, we would value your collaboration and contribution in building a sustainable model for the Gold Coast region to create a more effective single system of community-based and well-integrated social, environmental, physical, and overall health and well-being support. Join us to enhance your understanding and capabilities in delivering nature-based interventions and to network with other community leaders committed to improving health and well-being through social prescribing.
