Health is More Than Medicine
It’s the Foundation of a Thriving Society

Preventative care isn’t just about early detection—it’s about building the conditions that keep people well in the first place.

Our health is shaped by the world we live in, the things we do each day, and the people we’re connected to. It’s determined by whether our basic needs are met with dignity, whether we feel safe and included, and whether our systems support rather than fragment our wellbeing.

EACH25 is where we design and showcase what that kind of care looks like.

Not reactive. Not transactional. But complete, connected, and grounded in real life.

Social prescribing isn’t a fringe innovation but a return to common sense, backed by evidence. It brings together housing, culture, food, relationships, environment, movement, creativity, purpose—all the drivers of real health—and integrates them into how care is imagined, commissioned, and delivered.

What does EACH stand for?

EACH is not an acronym, but a lens for understanding and designing total health:

  • Environment – the conditions in which we live, work, grow, and age—physical, social, cultural, and digital.

  • Activity – the daily routines, roles, and pursuits that give rhythm and meaning to our lives.

  • Connection – our relationships, sense of belonging, identity, and community.

  • Health – the full expression of wellbeing across mind, body, and life—shaped by both personal experience and structural conditions.

Social prescribing connects these building blocks and makes them part of healthcare—not as a referral pathway, but as a foundation for prevention and flourishing.

Who Should Submit?

We invite contributions from people and organisations reimagining what health care looks like across sectors. Whether you’re in general practice, education, community services, arts, housing, youth work, planning or policy, if your work supports people to live well, this conference is for you.

This year, we especially welcome submissions focused on:

  • Children, young people, and families

  • Arts, culture, identity, and creative health

  • Meeting basic needs through care (housing, food, transport, income)

  • Culturally grounded, place-based and community-led models

  • Innovation in prevention, systems design, funding, and commissioning

Themes may include:

  • Creative and cultural health interventions

  • Connection and belonging as protective factors

  • Youth-focused and intergenerational approaches

  • Embedding prevention into mainstream care pathways

  • Using local assets and lived expertise to shape health

  • Equity, inclusion, and the right to thrive across life stages

Why EACH Matters

EACH25 offers a practical, evidence-informed vision for where a modernised Medicare system and a locally responsive health system can go next.

This is an opportunity to influence how we fund, frame, and deliver health care, so that it reflects what really keeps people well.
