About Us

Creative Workshops by Young People for Young People

These Creative Workshops provide a safe and supportive space for young people to engage in mindfulness-based art and craft activities, led and co-facilitated by peers. The principle is simple: there is no right or wrong when creating art. By removing pressure to perform, the workshops promote self-expression, confidence, and positive mental wellbeing.

In the social prescribing pathway, the Community Connector raises awareness of these workshops within schools, youth services, and community networks. The Link Worker supports referrals by identifying young people who may benefit, particularly those experiencing stress, low self-esteem, or social isolation. The Wellbeing Coordinator ensures quality and inclusivity, guiding trained youth facilitators and mentors to deliver meaningful, strengths-based activities.

Dr Bibiana Chan was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2010 to explore peer-led recovery programs in North America and later conducted postdoctoral research at Yales Program for Recovery and Community Health. This initiative is adapted from Yales Citizenship Community Enhancement Program. CFS youth program was a finalist in the 2014 Mental Health Matters Community Initiative Award.
